Spiritual Warfare Of The Mind | The Father’s House Live Oak | Amancio Rosas | May 24 2021 Summary

In this sermon, I address a topic that many believers are not adequately prepared for when they first come to faith: spiritual warfare in the mind. I begin by emphasizing the importance of identity in Christ, because before we can fight spiritual battles effectively, we must know who we are. I share how spiritual warfare often begins subtly, not with actions, but with thoughts, and how misunderstanding identity leaves believers vulnerable to deception.

I walk through the sequence of sin, explaining how unchecked thoughts lead to choices, choices form habits, habits create loss of control, and eventually lead to bondage. When sin goes undealt with, it doesn’t just influence behavior, it begins to shape identity. This is why hidden sin is so dangerous: it quietly rewrites how we see ourselves, convincing us that our failures define who we are.

From there, I explain the three sources of spiritual conflict believers face:

The flesh, our fallen, sinful nature that resists the Spirit. The world, both the world system and worldly influence that pressures us to compromise. The supernatural, spiritual forces that actively oppose God’s work in our lives.

All three target the mind, because the battlefield of spiritual warfare is not external, it is internal. Using Scripture from Galatians, 1 John, Ephesians, and Corinthians, I show how the enemy works through deception, half-truths, and discouragement, just as he did in the Garden with Eve.

I then teach from 2 Corinthians 10 that our weapons are not worldly, but spiritual, and that God has given us divine power to demolish strongholds by taking every thought captive and making it obedient to Christ. Victory begins when we refuse to give the enemy a foothold and instead replace destructive patterns with Christ-centered obedience.

I emphasize that freedom is not found in self-effort but in remaining in Christ. Drawing from John 15, Ephesians 4, Colossians 1, and 2 Corinthians 5, I call the church to put off the old self, renew the mind, and put on the new self created in Christ. Growth requires remembrance, constantly returning to the gospel, the cross, and the truth of what Jesus has accomplished for us.

I conclude by leading the church through declarations of truth, directly confronting the lies the enemy uses against believers. Where the enemy says we are nobody, rejected, guilty, abandoned, or too far gone, Jesus declares that we are known, chosen, loved, forgiven, adopted, redeemed, and made new. I invite the congregation to stand in agreement with these truths and respond in vulnerability, prayer, and faith.

This message is ultimately a call to freedom, freedom rooted in identity, guarded in the mind, sustained by Christ, and strengthened through the truth of the gospel.

Spiritual Growth | The Father’s House Youth | Amancio Rosas | May 14 2021 Summary

In this sermon, I break down what it truly means to grow spiritually, and I use everyday examples like trying to lose weight while eating Hot Cheetos to remind everyone that growth is intentional. No one becomes physically fit by sitting still, and spiritual maturity doesn’t just appear out of nowhere. God already chose us and provided a path for transformation, but we must take the steps to cultivate that growth daily through prayer, devotion, and community.

I share Acts 2:42 as a picture of the early church’s growth: they devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, breaking bread, and prayer. I explain that these same rhythms help us grow today. Teaching helps us understand who Jesus is. Fellowship forms Christlike relationships. Breaking bread builds community and hospitality. Prayer aligns our hearts with God’s presence and power. Spiritual growth is built on unity, coming together with intentionality.

I also walk through Jesus’ Parable of the Sower to show the hindrances that can block our growth. Some hearts are like the path: the Word never takes root and the enemy steals it quickly. Some are like rocky soil: they receive the Word with joy but fall away when life gets difficult. Others are like soil with thorns: they want God but allow worry, fear, and the pursuit of control or wealth to choke out their growth. And then there is good soil, the heart that receives the Word, understands it, trusts God, and produces lasting fruit.

Throughout the message, I challenge our youth to take spiritual inventory:

Which soil am I right now?

Am I the one who won’t even try?

The one who starts strong but quits when it gets hard?

The one who loves God but struggles to trust Him?

Or the one choosing to grow no matter the season?

Just like working out, growth happens in stages: 10 pounds, then 20, then 30. Some stop because it’s painful. Others push through, trust the process, and eventually grow stronger. Spiritually, the same is true: trust, perseverance, and intentional habits determine whether we stay stuck or mature into who God wants us to be.

I close by reminding them that life happens in seasons. Some seasons require perseverance; others allow for rest and renewal. But if we take growth seriously, stay connected to God and community, and trust Him through the process, we’ll be spiritually prepared for whatever comes next.

3 Agreements | The Father’s House Live Oak | Amancio Rosas Jan 21, 2021 (Summary)

In this message, I shared what the Lord placed on my heart for our church: three essential agreements that every believer needs in order to live a transformed life. We live in a fast-paced world where spiritual life can easily turn into a checklist, but God is calling us back to the foundations, agreement with the Word, agreement with the Spirit, and agreement with the Body of Christ. These three agreements have shaped my own walk with God, and they continue to anchor me today.

I began by talking about agreement with the Word of God, because it is the Word that renews our minds. Romans 12:2 reminds us not to conform to the patterns of this world but to be transformed by the renewing of our minds. I shared how, as a teenager, receiving a Message Bible ignited something in me. The Word came alive, reshaped my identity, and eventually led me to start a Christian club on my high school campus. God used Scripture to break old habits, heal insecurity, and redirect my purpose. When I say the Word brings renewal, I’m speaking from experience, renewal changes patterns, thinking, and eventually lifestyle.

The second agreement I taught on is agreement with the Spirit, because the Holy Spirit is the One who empowers obedience. We can know Scripture well and still struggle if we aren’t yielding to the Spirit’s leading. I’ve learned firsthand that it is not my strength that frees me from old behaviors or emotional patterns, it’s the Spirit’s power. When we refuse His nudging or quench His leading, our hearts grow cold, and we start justifying the things God wants to heal. But when we walk with the Spirit, denying ourselves daily, He redirects us, softens our hearts, and gives us the strength to live out what the Word teaches.

Finally, I taught about agreement with the Body of Christ, because transformation also requires community. Scripture calls us to sharpen one another, restore one another, and encourage one another. Correction can be uncomfortable, just like iron sharpening iron, but it is necessary for growth. Not everyone has earned the right to correct us, but those who love us and want to see us whole are part of God’s design for accountability. When we walk in unity, show humility, and refuse to slander or fight with each other, we shine as lights in a dark and chaotic world. Our battles are not against flesh and blood, so our posture must always be prayer, compassion, and restoration.

I closed by sharing my heart for the next generation. As a youth pastor, I know these kids face spiritual battles we often don’t see. My commitment is to fight for them in prayer, to walk alongside them, and to help them discover their identity and purpose in Christ. God is moving even, when we don’t see it, and He calls us, His church, to stand in agreement with His Word, His Spirit, and His Body so that His perfect and pleasing will can be revealed in our lives and in our house.

The Story Behind Global University (2019 Repost)

As you guys have noticed that I am an official graduate from Global University Berean School Of The Bible. I got my Ministerial Studies with Leadership Honors which provides more challenging ministry and training.

The Story Behind This:

I remember there were a lot of questions from people who thought that I should first pursue a degree before getting my credentials. While my church has split in 2015 and the transition was going on I was still a senior in high school wanting to join an internship that was unavailable. So I was recommended to do Berean School of the Bible to prepare myself towards my credentialing qualifications to be able to a minister. While I understand that it is not a degree but an opportunity to get the required courses to qualify there have been additional suggestions to get a degree first. I knew deep within my spirit that God wanted me to first pursue my credentials to accomplish the confirmation of the Call of God in my life. I did take their suggestion that college may be apart of my life in the future but I was solid on my goal to be able to accomplish my credentialing requirements.

I pushed and finally got my license to be a minister with the Assemblies of God in 2017 and now expecting to be ordained in 2020. I was on fire and passionate to get that goal accomplished. Then afterward I felt the call to finally pursue a degree which is where my next goal comes into play. I now attend Southeastern University on a mission to get my bachelor in Ministerial Leadership. I started online at first but then noticed that I am extroverted and really needed a community and be apart of a university. Which is how I found the extension site at The House of Modesto. I prayed and decided to transfer to the extension site for the mere purpose of being involved in a community of believers. After more than a year being apart of SEUNORCAL I have connected with a lot of people, being apart of their Student Leadership Body, and making memories with people who want to push me towards my calling to impact the Kingdom of God. I still have a year and a half more until I finish my degree but I am enjoying the moment and memories to be able to influence and build up those around me. I may not know the process that God has in your life.

My life as a young minister has been to completely surrender my life to Him. The more I keep going step after step with the direction that He has provided in my life the more opportunities will follow. While we tend to make things happen or force things to come we know at the end of the day it won’t work. We need to trust God with His plan no matter how confusing situations may be or how discouraging it may be in the “process moments” in your life. Trust God… Don’t forget this is a journey of a lifetime.

Best Of Both World’s (Luke 1:28)

As we experience life’s challenges we cannot enjoy the sunny days without the rainfall. We cannot enjoy joy without first feeling disappointment. Life has a balance of both joys and sadness to provide a unique story that God is establishing us in our time here on earth.

While reading the Book of Luke I will share my reflections upon Scripture and the Study Notes provided by the Fire Bible I got for my Ordination. Let’s go ahead and dive in!

According to the Study Notes from Luke 1:28, it states that “God calls someone to a specific mission for him, It will almost always involve blessing and suffering, joy, and sadness, successes and disappointments.”

We have a desire about the mission that is instilled with individuals pursuing their lives for God and His mission for us. We are reminded that just because we follow God’s will that “no problems with occur and everything will be smooth and without issues.”

That is far from the truth; When it comes to the mission of our lives it is a journey of trusting God and believing that He will follow through. Simone’s desire for his mission is the see the coming messiah and knew his mission was complete when Mary and Joseph brought Jesus to him. The Holy Spirit prompted this event which helps us to trust the Holy Spirit’s leading when it comes to our lives.

Nobody wants to wait but you cannot enjoy something valuable without a price to pay. Waiting shows the importance and commitment to show how valuable something is. Waiting comes with preparation and consistent prayer which is what we see Simeon illustrating.

I remember the mission God called me to start a Christian Club at my High School campus. I knew that this wasn’t going to be easy and that there will be plenty of joys and disappointments. From relational problems with individuals, to petty conflicts, to my church eventually splitting. There are always moments to look back and say “Wow this was so bad and disappointing.” But then I remember the mission that God called me during that time which was to Seek the Lost, Empower Believers, Serve The Campus, and Start A Legacy. I truly believe that even though the radical change of my life to the point that people were throwing apples toward me while walking by the cafeteria. I stayed constant with my mission to make Jesus known by my actions and words. I saw a lot of fruit and people even now that we are adults can trust my insights regarding faith and practice. They can trust my insights about Jesus because they saw me living out my faith during high school. People will refer to me as a Jesus Freak which was fine because that shows proof that my life was focused on Him.

Whatever you are going through don’t forget that there will be the best in both worlds of the good and bad. Let those two develop a story worth telling for the hope that we cannot appreciate the good moments now if we haven’t gone through disappointments.

We Are Great Listeners But Not Great Followers

The hardest thing to do is to look at yourself in the mirror. Our culture is deeply focused on belonging and security. It is easy to believe that we are secure with the things we do instead of allowing God to know us. What do I mean?

We know that we are called to follow Jesus and to listen to His voice.

Scripture states that:

My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.

John 10:27

There is a connection when it comes to being followers of Jesus. In order to listen, you must follow which means you must be obedient.

God spoke to my heart about obedience and certain things that I have been lacking in that area in my life. We sometimes don’t want to “listen” because there is a price to pay by following Jesus. We justify our sinning based on cultural acceptance instead of denying ourselves daily and picking up our cross. “Oh, Jesus didn’t specifically mention that activity”, but yet the principles state otherwise. We could always pull out the mentioning of a specific action to justify the behavior. But you cannot change the principles that demand accountability for your actions.

When it comes to convictions Paul stated this:

“I have the right to do anything,” you say—but not everything is beneficial. “I have the right to do anything”—but not everything is constructive.

1 Corinthians 10:23

We must find things that are benefiting us and not causing us to make dumb decisions. I have my share fair of unwise decisions that I am currently reaping because I haven’t dealt with my inner man and listening to God, denying myself, and following Him. When God spoke obedience He MEANS it and if you do not listen then don’t be surprised by the consequences of your actions. You will either be wise and listen or face the discipline based on love. I may not know your weak spots and your flaws but God is right there waiting for your honest repentance. No more “I will stop starting today” but then end up doing the same thing a few weeks later. This is why we desperately need to be surrendered under His authority and lordship in our lives. He is our Savior who saves us from our sin and our Lord who keeps us accountable to live transformed lives which are only through Him.

Make A Decision And A Plan For The Future:

Everyone can have an idea, but if you do not have a plan then how can you be accountable for following up your idea?

The decision starts today, but God will handle the rest.

For he says,

“In the time of my favor I heard you,

and in the day of salvation I helped you.”

I tell you, now is the time of God’s favor, now is the day of salvation.

2 Corinthians 6:2

I understand that we will never be perfect, but I also understand that this shouldn’t be an excuse to justify our sin. While we are fallen based on our sinful nature, we have Christ who is there to create us new. So if you are not growing, becoming new, and listening to Jesus and what He requires us to do, then are you really new?

Can you honestly look back throughout the year and say that you have changed? Of course, there are maturity aspects but what about the spiritual aspect of your life? What about those triggers that the enemies know about and who will keep placing temptations in order for you to fall? Or a habit you know that isn’t healthy but you claim that “this is who I am” to make it seem justifiable.

I have struggled so much this year in a spiritual sense, while I was committed to listening to Jesus I was not willing to follow His direction. That’s a lot of us and I want to remind you that it’s not too late to surrender.

We are called to be living sacrifices to God:

Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship.

Romans 12:1

We offer ourselves not based on what we do for the church but based on our relationship with Him. We are so busy with life and ministry that we forget who we are truly doing this for, Jesus.

3 Aspects Of The Holy Spirit: Help (P.1)

Audio Version

I made it my journey to take a deep study of the Holy Spirit in this next season of my life. I’m taking a huge step to be mindful of God’s presence in my life and allow myself to reflect while allowing the Holy Spirit to provide inspiration and communication in my life and in things that need to be changed. I do plan on writing a book about my investigations, so this is a sample of the type of work that I will be providing for you guys.

To learn all seven titles, I made it easy and simplified it into three simple words, the first of which being help.

The Holy Spirit Helps Us:

There are three areas that the Holy Spirit can help us as believers that I would like to highlight:

1.) Comforter:

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – The Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

John 14:16-17

He is called our Counselor which, translated in Greek, means “Someone called alongside to help.”

I love the fact that we are not alone in our struggles, problems, or issues. We have the Holy Spirit to comfort us through tough times. He is there to listen to you, hear you out, be there with you. He is not there to have your problems magically go away, but He is there to come alongside you to help you go through it. Whenever you feel down and out, remember that you can call on Him to comfort you.

I remember when the Holy Spirit came alongside me to comfort me through a job situation. Conflict was arising and I knew a transition was about to take place. After a couple of tears, I just knew deep inside that something had to be done to proceed forward with His Will. Comfort leads to action because you have a sense of security to press on. I knew deep inside that if I didn’t have the Holy Spirit to comfort me and believe that everything was under His control, I wouldn’t be able to take the risks I have been taking up to this day.

2.) Spirit of Life:

6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Romans 8:6

God is the author of life, He breathed Adam to have life from the dust of the Earth.

Jesus throughout His ministry provided life through healing, resurrection, and restoration.

The same goes with the Holy Spirit as He has these types of characteristics as well.

I don’t know what type of healing you need. The Holy Spirit, who is also the Spirit of Life, can provide life and health through the physical, the mental, and spiritual aspects of our lives.

We can pray and allow the Holy Spirit to provide life in those aspects of our lives.

Knowing this about the Holy Spirit helps me be effective when I pray for healing while not being based on our core doctrines of Divine Healing, but based on the characteristic of life. Whether healing is instantaneous or progressive, it’s the faith factor of believing in prayer until it is answered that’s the main focus of our faith. I make sure to follow up with those I am praying for to see how they are doing, allowing the Spirit of Life to do its purpose and work in the individuals that I am praying for.

3.) Holy Spirit:

The name itself provides a goal that the Holy Spirit has in our lives. Holiness is being set apart and being dedicated to God. That is the Holy Spirit’s role in our lives to become Christ-like through pursuing holiness knowing that we are living dedicated to God.

This is where we can allow the Holy Spirit to bring things that are not Christ-like so we can repent and be changed through His power.

Temptation is on the rise even when you are pushing to do God’s Will. The key is to allow ourselves to be humble before the Holy Spirit and allow Him to generate the transformation power to develop Christ-like characteristics that are Holy. We will never reach perfection but we can reach progression and reflection to become like Christ. Now whenever I am going through fear, doubt, temptations of lust, bitterness, or pride, I am reminded that the Holy Spirit is here in my life to change and to help me avoid those opportunities that can lead me to my downfall. Be obedient to His voice and He will take you to areas that you may not be able to go through without the change of your character.

While this is a basic type of introduction, I will be providing my investigation and documentation of my experiences with the Holy Spirit. He is the one who comes alongside us to help and we must allow Him to do His role in our lives.
