3 Aspects Of The Holy Spirit: Help (P.1)

Audio Version

I made it my journey to take a deep study of the Holy Spirit in this next season of my life. I’m taking a huge step to be mindful of God’s presence in my life and allow myself to reflect while allowing the Holy Spirit to provide inspiration and communication in my life and in things that need to be changed. I do plan on writing a book about my investigations, so this is a sample of the type of work that I will be providing for you guys.

To learn all seven titles, I made it easy and simplified it into three simple words, the first of which being help.

The Holy Spirit Helps Us:

There are three areas that the Holy Spirit can help us as believers that I would like to highlight:

1.) Comforter:

“I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – The Spirit of Truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.”

John 14:16-17

He is called our Counselor which, translated in Greek, means “Someone called alongside to help.”

I love the fact that we are not alone in our struggles, problems, or issues. We have the Holy Spirit to comfort us through tough times. He is there to listen to you, hear you out, be there with you. He is not there to have your problems magically go away, but He is there to come alongside you to help you go through it. Whenever you feel down and out, remember that you can call on Him to comfort you.

I remember when the Holy Spirit came alongside me to comfort me through a job situation. Conflict was arising and I knew a transition was about to take place. After a couple of tears, I just knew deep inside that something had to be done to proceed forward with His Will. Comfort leads to action because you have a sense of security to press on. I knew deep inside that if I didn’t have the Holy Spirit to comfort me and believe that everything was under His control, I wouldn’t be able to take the risks I have been taking up to this day.

2.) Spirit of Life:

6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.

Romans 8:6

God is the author of life, He breathed Adam to have life from the dust of the Earth.

Jesus throughout His ministry provided life through healing, resurrection, and restoration.

The same goes with the Holy Spirit as He has these types of characteristics as well.

I don’t know what type of healing you need. The Holy Spirit, who is also the Spirit of Life, can provide life and health through the physical, the mental, and spiritual aspects of our lives.

We can pray and allow the Holy Spirit to provide life in those aspects of our lives.

Knowing this about the Holy Spirit helps me be effective when I pray for healing while not being based on our core doctrines of Divine Healing, but based on the characteristic of life. Whether healing is instantaneous or progressive, it’s the faith factor of believing in prayer until it is answered that’s the main focus of our faith. I make sure to follow up with those I am praying for to see how they are doing, allowing the Spirit of Life to do its purpose and work in the individuals that I am praying for.

3.) Holy Spirit:

The name itself provides a goal that the Holy Spirit has in our lives. Holiness is being set apart and being dedicated to God. That is the Holy Spirit’s role in our lives to become Christ-like through pursuing holiness knowing that we are living dedicated to God.

This is where we can allow the Holy Spirit to bring things that are not Christ-like so we can repent and be changed through His power.

Temptation is on the rise even when you are pushing to do God’s Will. The key is to allow ourselves to be humble before the Holy Spirit and allow Him to generate the transformation power to develop Christ-like characteristics that are Holy. We will never reach perfection but we can reach progression and reflection to become like Christ. Now whenever I am going through fear, doubt, temptations of lust, bitterness, or pride, I am reminded that the Holy Spirit is here in my life to change and to help me avoid those opportunities that can lead me to my downfall. Be obedient to His voice and He will take you to areas that you may not be able to go through without the change of your character.

While this is a basic type of introduction, I will be providing my investigation and documentation of my experiences with the Holy Spirit. He is the one who comes alongside us to help and we must allow Him to do His role in our lives.
